A message from one of our patients, Josephine Fong on her 5th year anniversary of receiving a bone marrow transplant.

The 1st “C” I walked for 9 years when the 2nd “C” came knocking. It was not an easy path to walk. 28 April 2011 is my re-born date. I was given a new life by a total stranger who I did not know anything about him but that did not stop him from donating his stem cells to me and give me the chance of life.

I could not believe that someone would be willing to help a complete stranger and I cannot how to express myself how much that meant to me and my family. It also showed me there are still people out there who are truly selfless and are willing to help others. That gave us hope and the positive mindset to keep going.

I am thankful and grateful to my family, relatives, friends for the care, love and support.

I am “5” years old liao. Anyway, whoever are fighting or struggling with whatever you are doing, please do not give up hope. Always stay positive in life. Always be grateful and thankful for what you have and treasure it.

A kind stranger gave Josephine another chance at life. She is grateful for what he did.
