Meeting our donor recruitment and fundraising targets every year is hard work and to be successful we need help from willing and energetic volunteers. Having said that, we know that everyone’s busy and making another commitment can sometimes be very demanding… but on the plus side, it’s a great way to network, meet new people and even learn some new skills.
Most of all, our volunteers know that they are helping to save lives and it really doesn’t get much better than that.
We have a number of different volunteer opportunities available and knowing we can’t do it alone, please consider coming aboard and joining our amazing team.
Fund Raising Champion
It costs $180 to add each new volunteer donor, help us raise funds for our life-saving work. You could definitely sign up to help on our Flag Days and the concert and events we organise are always needing people to sell tickets, man the booth or generally help out. Alternatively, you may have some great ideas and want to organise your own fund-raising challenge?
Is sport your thing? Do you prefer cooking for your friends? Even a party for a cause? You could organise an event among your friends and community and it can be a great way to raise funds and also awareness. You can turn these great fund raising ideas – garage sales, run a marathon, bake sales, car washes, or turn your next birthday – into realities and help us save more lives!
Let us know what amazing things you are doing.
Are you a celebrity, blogger or perhaps have a band and enjoy sharing what you know to the public? Be our campaigner and help increase the publicity of our cause through various social platforms where you want to be seen as someone making a difference.
If you enjoy meeting new people, join us on our donor recruitment drives! You can be on the frontline educating and encouraging the public to get involved with the BMDP.
Our corporate and school drives are usually held during office hours Mondays – Fridays, 9am to 6pm. We will inform you of the details of each drive (time, date, venue) beforehand. You will be briefed beforehand about the donation process, FAQs, and trained on how to approach and talk to members of the public. Alternatively, we run events over the weekends in the malls and public spaces and these could be a great way to spend a weekend – speaking up for our cause.
Use your skills and experience to help out in the office by processing postal swab kits, data entry, and telemarketing. We are looking for volunteers who are able to help out on an ad-hoc basis during our office hours Monday – Friday, 9am to 6pm.
Bone marrow / stem cells need to be transported from the place of collection to the requesting transplant centre and this means both in and out of Singapore. The destination can be anywhere worldwide and travel is usually by Singapore Airlines and Economy Class.
If you are a Singaporean, familiar with international travel, speak excellent English and have time available to commit to working with us for between 3 – 8 days, this could be an excellent way to help us out. All couriers are trained on local transports and then accompany an international courier for hands-on experience.
