18 Feb 2021 - For those under the Direct Debit Donor Programme
As part of global efforts to reduce environmental impact, from 2021 onwards, all printed Tax Deductible Receipts (TDR) will be converted to an e-version, which will be sent out via email.
You will receive your e-Tax Deductible Receipt (e-TDR) by March 2021, in a PDF attachment encrypted with a password consisting of the last 4-characters of your FIN/NRIC/Company's registration number.
IMPORTANT: To avoid sending your e-TDR automatically to the junk/spam mail folder, please add this email address BMDP@tdr.sgdonationreceipt.com to your Address Book and/or the "Approved Sender" list.
(Your tax deductions will still automatically be reflected in your IRAS tax assessment. The e-TDR is only for your personal records.)
If you have changed your current email address, please update us at admin@bmdp.org or call +65 6323 2012 (Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm, except Public Holidays) to ensure uninterrupted delivery of your e-TDR.
To donate with confidence, always “ASK, CHECK, GIVE”!
The Safer Giving Campaign was launched by the Commissioner of Charities in September 2018 to empower members of the public to ASK, CHECK before they GIVE to charities. The commissioner, Dr Ang Hak Seng said, “As more people do their checks, it is harder to abuse the system. When donors have more trust (in fund-raising appeals), they will also give more.”
Charities welcomed this new campaign as it will boost donors’ confidence in giving if they did their checks. The public are encouraged to do the following before donating;
The public can now pledge their donation with confidence. When in doubt, they should contact or find out more about the charity. They must never feel pressurised to give.
